I want to dedicate this Hollywood Vampires live report to my mom, passed away the 9th May, she’d loved to see
the show of this incredible band, and if I love rock, it’s her merit.
Who would have thought that one day I’d have seen my favorite artist on stage with my favorite actor!
On the contrary, it happened in Lucca at the Summer Festival on July 6, 2018. Date to be counted among my personal memories, along with every single concert of Alice Cooper I attended.
Who know me well, knows my great love for Alice Cooper, one of the most innovative artists, criticized. a highly professional and natural talent.
“Faded Flower” is influenced by soft sounds of southern rock, notable the the track that opens this EP, a very warm intimacy that
involves the listener, in which the guitar is the protagonist with excellent riffs and a warm voice
leads into the heart of this song.
“The Way I Do” is more deeper as in its rhythm as in the vocal notes and not less of the intrinsic musicality that creates this piece, a velvety creation for Stelios Ventas...
Brilliant the third track “Scratch The Surface”, while “Colorblind” is simply amazing to me, with its funky imprints and the catchy sound
and deep vocals, absolutely great the bass lines.
Gradually, the pieces follow one another in a heterogeneous way, always on a well-defined wave, that which the group wants to impress on the forefather of the listener.
To be noted the songs “The Siren Song”, another great...
“Meteora” it is instead a great song, full of pathos and interesting, corollated by a power metal that I must admit does not loudly
abstain in this album. To note the presence of Max Aguzzi (Dragonhammer) and Diego Reali (Evidence).
“Ocean Of Tears” drums and piano in his intro, to follow the beautiful Dave Shadow’ voice,
A piece of a particularly intense and noteworthy beauty. Probably one of the best pieces of this album...
Paulo Barros, known perhaps more as guitarist of Portuguese power metal band Tarantula, has a successful solo career as well, in 1998 he released his debut” Vintage”, in 2003 he released “Gemini” and, five years after “K:arma 6”.
Paulo Barros is back with a brand new album entitled “More Humanity Please” and, as I wrote in my review, I think it’s one of the best albums of this 2018, pure and genuine adrenaline in a healthy rock.
"I love music, good music, and I listen to a lot of music from different genres, I’m very open-minded when it comes to all kinds of art.
However… I can´t do everything right, as you can imagine, and I’ve worked in several things..."
The bands roots are clearly rock and hard-rock of the 80s and 90s. Bands like Queensryche, King`s X, Dokken or Van Halen always have been
a great influence to the sound of the band.
The current year, 2018, sees the band with the brand new album “Changing Time”, published via the Italian label Volcano Records.
The actual lineup sees Christian Freimoser as vocalist, Wolfgang Forstner on guitar, Thomas Rackl on bass, and Manuel Wimmer on drums. Let's get to know them together ...
Born in 2013 Hangarvain released their first album “Best Ride Horse” in 2014 followed by the big success of “Freaks” in 2016 and within few
years the band reached a wide fanbase all around Europe being known as one of the most recognizable and untiring live and touring band of this generation.
After a full year of silence, Hangarvain is back in 2018 with a new album entitled “Roots and Returns”, available from May 25th via Volcano Records, and supported by a European Tour.
To talk about “Roots and Returns” and more, Alessandro Liccardo, the band guitarist, president of the Italian label Volcano Records, and of Modern Guitar Program.
WaterCrisis is an Italian stoner rock band, from the province of Naples, the first album entitled ''Sleeping Sickness'', was released in 27th April 2018, evolving the ideas to propos into the previous EP, a more resolute and aggressive sound which better refer to the stoner/metal , musical genre chosen by the band, proposing a more mature product, confirming their contract with Volcano Records & Promotion Label. The particular sound of these musicians, intrigued me enough to want to interview them to get to know them better.
