In the undergrowth of the Italian rock music scene, Superhorror band has always had on its own sense of humor, good music style and
stage presence .
Orphan of their suffix “Fuck”, the band is back with the brilliant album “Hit Mania Death”, out via Logic(Il)Logic - Burning Minds, on October 27, 2017.
The band has a nice story, and I want to tell it to explain who the band is really is.… Four guys, members of a band called Morphina, are driving through the woods of Desperation City, towards a dirty pub where they were supposed to play for an Halloween party.
The four guys never reached their destination, their car crashed misteriously, and their bodies had never been found…
Instead of them, four fresh dead corpses reached the pub, they called themselves Superhorrorfuck…
This’s happened in 2005.
On December 2009, A police sergeant who was still investigating on the Morphina’s case mysteriously disappears himself…
Some days later Superhorrorfuck present their fifth member, Sgt.Anubis...
2013 After eight years of disgusting live shows and two albums released, Superhorrorfuck conquered the complete control upon their dead bodies, but something unexpected is waiting for
Voices, pictures, memories of their previous lives start screaming inside their heads, the five guys realize that the bodies they’re haunting don’t belong to them but they are only dead shells where emotions and memories of the previous owners are still alive, and so they begin a terrible inner battle…
Only two of them win this battle against these “ante-mortem pictures”: indeed, Paghalloween. Littlebomb and Sgt.Anubis decide to return to their previous lives, exorcizing the evil souls who were hunting them, and Dr.Freak & Mr.4 begin immediately a gruesome process of new members enrolment, through blood, death and strange demonic rituals…
Once again Superhorrorfuck rise from the grave, even dirtier, naughtier and horny than before, with a new album “Death Becomes Us”, and a new line-up, Edward J. Freak, Mr.4, Didi Bukz,Franky Voltage, are ready to spread the Word of Horrorchy on the stages all over the world, and, of course, in your best nightmares…
2016 - New name, new sound and another resurrection for the band, the follower year, it’s the time for “Hit Mania Death”.
In short, this band isn’t the classic rock band.
The album is open by "Ready, Steady…Die" with a country guitar riff, toward in hard-rock sound and in a melodic refrain.
Punk-rock In "Nazi Nuns from Outer Space", hard rock once again for “Mr Rigor Mortis", while the beautiful “Ed Wood Blues” gives us blues echo and remembering Hanoi Rocks style. A good piece, one of the best track of this album, where a great guitar’ solo succeeds in hypnotizing.
Fast and daring guitars in “No love for the Deaceased”, good the country-blues ballad
"Dead to be alive”, rich of melodies, where arcs and the female voice, gives to the piece a different harmonic touch. Sometimes ballads can surprise me…
Back to punk rock with “Rock is Dead (Like Us)” where is absolutely brilliant the break toward the end of the piece.
"Nice to Meat You" it’s another great song where Dr Freak’ voice alternates with guitar and female choir. A delicate guitar arpeggio starts "Little Scream Queen" that it continues in generous hard-rock. Funky intro for “Mourir C’est Chic”, while "Selfish Son of to Witch" it is the trace heavier track of the album.
Various styles inspirations are mixed together in the
closing "Nekro-Nekro Gym" that could be the synthesis of “Hit Mania Death”.
Superhorror made an excellent album, concrete, honest and rough, a good band that shows the value of a good rock vibes.
