Never judge a book by its cover, in this case a record. In spite of this there is a graphic worthy of C.S.I., inside there is a real pearl.
Christian Tolle is back with his project with a the new album “Point Blank”, released via Fastball Music the past October and containing eight new songs and two covers sung by John Cuijpers (Cooper Inc., , Praying Mantis, Ayreon):  Rainbow's “Since You Be Be Gone” so well performed and “Lonely Is The Night”.
The style still the same of the previous four works, good  AOR rock with melodic resonances.
A rock inspired by the the golden eighties with the modern attitude that made a very interesting album, with great guitars and good vocals.
'Borderland', sung by David Reece (ex-Accept, ex-Bonfire) gives a catchy touch. We can find Mr. Reece in the pure AOR 'Proceed With Caution', the 'Too Late',  'Black Friday' which gives us a great AOR harmonies.
Two brilliant singers for such a good album that manages to give so many emotions, the class is class, there is nothing to do. Honestly, it was a long time since I listened to an album so beautiful, interesting and engaging, chapeaux!
The whole  band manages to weave really good varied musicality.
To mention there’re the pieces “Too Late”,  "Before I Fall” and “Black Friday”, three epic songs with thrilling guitars and such a powerful soul, three highlights for this album.
The classic AOR piece is “ Lonely Is The Night” that closes “Point Blank”, magnificent end for an album like this.
A must have for all classic hard rock AOR fans.
