Venus Mountains, Italian Hard Rock band, formed in 2009 to today has played on the stages of all Europe through several tours in Italy, England, France, Spain, the Netherlands, in 2015 brought
its solid and devastating hard rock until the United States where he performed among others things at Whiskey A Go Go in Los Angeles.
The new Venus Mountains’ album “Black Snake” is distributed
by Volcano Records & Promotion characterized by distorted guitars, forceful rhythms, bass-and-drum sound, and dynamic vocals.
Welcome guys, first of all, can you tell us a little about yourselves and your music?
Hi Valeria, one of our song say “We are Venus Mountains are you ready to the party?” this is our idea of music: entertainment, fun and rock ‘n roll.
“Black Snake” is a good album with a lot of eighteen influences, that kind of hard rock I’m affectionate. Who were your early passions and influences?
Our influences are most of all the great band who made the history of rock and metal, such as: Aerosmith, Guns n Roses, Acdc, Motley Crue, Metallica, Iron Maiden.
“Jj The Cowboy” is one of my favorite songs in your album. Would you like to talk about this piece?
I like it too; I wrote that song two years ago. It was the first idea for the new album, I really don’t remember why I wrote a song about a cowboy who ride a horse through the vineyards... ahhahha! Sometimes when I write a riff I think to what I feel if I close my eyes, after that I fix the idea and the title of the song, after that I create the rest.
When did you start writing music?
We start writing music as Venus Mountains in 2009, personally I start in the 1999 when I was 16 to write poems and other things.
What do you personally consider to be the incisive moments in your artistic career?
First of all the live show in Hollywood at Whisky a Go Go in 2015 and the “Night of the knives” in Milan @Erbamatta in 2013 when a crazy man give me a punch on stage and take out a knife..
How strictly do you separate improvising and composing?
When I write first of all I improvising the first ideas/riff, after that I try to link other piece of the song also with the help of harmonization rules. But not only theory, most of the songs grown first in my mind secondly on my guitar, third on my Mac.
What inspirations outside of music impact your songwriting?
Most of our songwriting is inspired by real life and our true story, but sometimes also nature and fact of the society. But the first thing is Pussy of course, as I say at our gigs.
What track of yours best represents your sound?
From the new album I think “Rock city” and also “Down to the rainbow”
Growing up, did you all always want to be musicians? Can you recall your earliest musical memory?
Yes I wanted and every day I try to do my best to get better singer, guitar player. You can always do better in life. I remember my first live with my old cover band, the anxiety to get on the stage. Now I can’t wait to do another live show.
What do you hope is the message of your music? What do you hope people take away from your songs?
Fun first, adrenalin second, explosive charge third. I hope people keep singing our refrain in their head, that’s all.
Where do you feel happier, in the studio recording new music or on stage performing?
On stage, of course. Studio for me is a boring moment to fix our ideas, and it help us to stop changing versions of the songs.
How important do you think social media has been to this band? Do all you help to maintain all your sites or is one of you more into it all? Or do you rely on your PR/management team to handle it all?
I think social media in the 2018 are very important and help to maintain a link between us and fan. Normally I check and update our website and Facebook and Mick is the Instagram man, we
aren’t so rich at the moment to pay a Pr to check our social.
I really thank you for your time, would you like to say something else to the readers?
Thanks everybody who support us and follow us especially at our live shows.
