In addition to his seminal music, Lou Reed was known to be a rather tricky character to interview. Now a new book brings together over thirty interviews to the former Velvet Undeground, starting right from the end of the epic group that he founded with John Cale and began his solo career. '' My week beats your year: encounters with Lou Reed '' is due out in August and is published by Hat & Beard Press, the same Los Angeles-based publisher announced it on its Instagram profile. The book was written by Michael Heath and edited by Pat Thomas. On April 23, "Do angels need haircuts" was published, a collection containing poems and short stories written by the artist over a period of six months in the early 1970s, after the abandonment of the Velvet Undergounds, at the time when he had found employment at his father's company. Lou Reed died in 2013 at the age of 71.
