Pat Torpey, drummer for Mr. Big, dead at 64 after battle with Parkinson’s

Rockers And Other Animals wants to pay respects to drummer and founding member of Mr. Big, Pat Torpey,  died Wednesday due to complications from Parkinson’s disease.

“With breaking hearts we tell you that our brother, friend, drummer and founding member, Pat, passed away Wednesday, February 7 from complications of Parkinson’s disease,” the group said in a statement.
“Family, band and management request privacy at this very difficult time. Services are pending.”


Mr. Big was formed in 1988 with Torpey, Billy Sheehan, Eric Martin and Paul Gilbert.
Their self-titled debut album was released in 1989 after a dlay while Pat toured with Robert Plant, but it was their album, “Lean Into It”, that brought the group into mainstream success, including No. 1 single “To Be With You”.
